About the event
“I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me…” — Matthew 25:35
In the new year, the Cluny Institute is launching a major new film initiative, to fully fund and launch experimental and challenging short works related to mercy. We’re looking for artistically ambitious, spiritually serious, risk-taking filmmakers—especially those whose work doesn’t fit neatly into the world of institutional religion, but who are moved by Christ’s words above.
On Thursday, November 19, we’re gathering a small group of filmmakers, artists, and friends for a low-key evening of drinks, small bites, and conversation in New York. It’s a chance to meet at the very beginning of this project and help shape what it becomes, so that we can discover and support extraordinary work in the years to come.
The evening is invite-only. But if you’re a filmmaker, writer, researcher, or industry professional who’d like to be part of the project in some way, we’d love to hear from you. Tell us about yourself and your work.
