Cluny Academy

Cluny Academy will offer courses and fellowships to help people cultivate a deeper understanding of themselves, their cultural and technological environments, and develop the agency to take creative action in their work, homes, and artistic pursuits.

The inaugural course, ‛The Courage to Choose: Foundations of Agency,' will launch this Spring at the Catholic University of America, co-taught by Luke Burgis and Jordan Castro. In late 2025, the Academy will open this offering to the general public.

The Courage to Choose: Foundations of Agency is an experiential, multidisciplinary class that helps students make important choices for their work, creative pursuits, and personal lives.

Many talented people remain unable to act in accordance with their highest values, finding themselves tracked into jobs that kill their spirit, unsure of how to build the things they most want to build—whether artistic projects, companies, or families. Traditional education doesn’t prepare them for the most important decisions they will have to make.

The Courage to Choose employs a See/Judge/Act framework to familiarize students with key concepts, help them develop an understanding of themselves and their environment, and give a process for decision-making that engages their whole being—intellectual, spiritual, incarnational—and can be broadly applicable throughout their lives.
